Find out what your knee needs before choosing a care path
Knee pain can change how you walk, train, work, and enjoy everyday life. Our team starts with your history, movement, and current limitations so the next step is based on your evaluation, not a one-size-fits-all program.
What You May Be Noticing
You may notice discomfort with stairs, standing from a chair, walking, squatting, kneeling, or returning to exercise. Some people describe stiffness, swelling, clicking, or a sense that the knee does not move as comfortably as it used to. These experiences can have different explanations and do not identify a diagnosis on their own.
What Your Evaluation Tells Us
Your symptoms have a story. During a thorough evaluation, we take time to understand how your concern began, your health history, how you move, and what you’re feeling today — so we can build a plan that actually fits you. The vast majority of people we see are a great fit for care here.
What May Be Considered
Based on the evaluation, your provider may discuss Sports Medicine, Pain Control, or Knee Decompression. Listing an option does not guarantee that it is right for you. Your plan depends on your presentation, goals, and response over time.
Important Boundary
Gilbert Physical Medicine is not an emergency service. If you are having a medical emergency, call 911. For severe or rapidly worsening symptoms, including new weakness, numbness, or loss of function, seek prompt medical care.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is knee decompression right for every knee problem?
No. Candidacy depends on evaluation. The Knee Decompression page explains the service, but a page listing is not a clinical recommendation.
Can you tell what is wrong from where my knee hurts?
Pain location is useful information, but it cannot confirm a diagnosis by itself. Your history and evaluation provide needed context.
Can I keep exercising?
Activity guidance should be individualized. Your provider can discuss reasonable next steps after evaluating your current symptoms and movement.
Do you guarantee I will avoid surgery?
No. GPM does not promise a particular outcome or replace an indicated surgical consultation.
