Reach for what matters
Shoulder pain can make small movements feel like big decisions
Reaching a shelf, putting on a shirt, training, or sleeping comfortably should not feel like a daily negotiation. We start with a focused evaluation of your history, movement, and goals before discussing a care path.
What You May Be Noticing
You may notice discomfort with reaching overhead or behind you, lifting, pushing, pulling, lying on one side, or returning to a sport. Some people describe stiffness, weakness, clicking, or reduced confidence in the shoulder. These symptoms can have different explanations and are not a diagnosis.
What Your Evaluation Tells Us
Your symptoms have a story. During a thorough evaluation, we take time to understand how your concern began, your health history, how you move, and what you’re feeling today — so we can build a plan that actually fits you. The vast majority of people we see are a great fit for care here.
What May Be Considered
When appropriate, the evaluation may connect with Sports Medicine, Pain Control, or Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Your provider may also discuss other verified GPM options when they fit the evaluation. Listing a service does not guarantee candidacy.
Important Boundary
Gilbert Physical Medicine is not an emergency service. If you are having a medical emergency, call 911. For severe or rapidly worsening symptoms, including new weakness, numbness, or loss of function, seek prompt medical care.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you tell what is wrong from where my shoulder hurts?
Pain location helps guide the evaluation but does not confirm a diagnosis.
Will I need imaging?
Not everyone does. Your provider will explain whether imaging or another evaluation may be helpful.
Can I keep lifting or playing sports?
Activity guidance depends on your current presentation. Your provider can help clarify reasonable next steps after evaluation.
Will the plan focus only on the painful spot?
The evaluation considers your movement and goals as well as the area you feel symptoms.
